SAN DIEGO - Californer -- Divine Punk Inc. proudly announces the release of You Need Therapy, a compact 10-track collection of original works by lyricist and music designer Rebecca Noelle. The album extends Noelle's collection of genre-bending contemplative music in a very personal exploration of the therapeutic, healing process.
As with Noelle's musical oeuvre, which includes Soul Songs and Soul Songs II (https://music.apple.com/us/album/soul-songs-ii/...), as well as Magical Autumn (https://music.apple.com/us/album/magical-autumn...) and Happy Christmas (https://music.apple.com/us/album/happy-christma...), You Need Therapy encompasses a wide emotional range supported by pristine sound design as a new kind of sound track for healing. "It's both very personal and very inclusive," says Noelle, "and in ways that what we mostly think of as 'healing music' are not. Plus, you'll get to meet my emotional support kitty, and learn how I chill when nothing else works."

From the eponymous title track, You Need Therapy ranges from Zydeco across Latin and Irish rhythms to contemporary pop, world, and disco as musical settings for lyrics that describe a healing journey, packed with invitations to join in. How do you know if "Intuition or Anxiety" guides your choices? Do you know "How to be Mad?" "Am I an Alien?" Is social media truly a moonwalk? There's even a track for people who want to learn the Buddhist breathing technique called "tonglen" where Noelle teaches us how to inhale what bugs us and exhale what we want.
"Rebecca's compositions are intuitive storytelling," says Bill Protzmann, producer. "This album is clearly a journey that culminates in 'Identity Shift.' Isn't that the best title for musical completion of transformation?"
You Need Therapy launches on all major streaming platforms Thursday, May 14, 2026.
