IHO property, El Verano, will act as a COVID-19 vaccination pop-up clinic for its senior residents in partnership with Meals on Wheels Orange County and Families Together of Orange County Community Health Center on Februrary 3, 2021.
ANAHEIM, Calif. - Californer -- Innovative Housing Opportunities (IHO) property, El Verano, will act as a COVID-19 vaccination pop-up clinic for its senior residents in partnership with Meals on Wheels Orange County and Families Together of Orange County Community Health Center. The clinic will be available on February 3, 2021, at 1248 E. Lincoln, Anaheim, CA 92805, from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Residents from the senior community have been invited to participate in a Mobile Clinic provided by Families Together of Orange County Community Health Center, a certified COVID-19 Vaccination Provider. The organization will bring its Mobil Clinic to the El Verano site and administer the vaccination to registered participants.
"Appointments for vaccinations are made through a website, and many seniors living at El Verano do not have internet access or know how to navigate mobile phone apps," said IHO Community Impact & Programs Director, Emilie Dang. "Bringing the Mobile Vaccination Clinic to El Verano's residents has made it possible for them to receive the protection of the COVID vaccinations in the safety of their own community and eliminate the worry and uncertainty they have faced in figuring out how they would be able to get vaccinated."

In the current environment, where COVID-19 is one of the highest risk factors that older adults are currently facing, El Verano residents can schedule appointments beginning at 8:00 am, with ten residents receiving vaccinations each hour. A few seniors from IHO's Rockwood Apartments will also have the chance to schedule vaccination appointments following the residents at El Verano to reduce the possibility of exposure to either community.
El Verano is a beautiful, Spanish-style affordable-housing community for independent living seniors and older adults who have experienced homelessness and housing insecurity. These new, affordable homes provide a vital community benefit, where comprehensive targeted services, programs, and case management are provided.
