LA HABRA, Calif. - Californer -- Lawyers Realty Group secured a remarkable victory for an elderly widow facing the loss of her family home due to the deleterious actions of her estranged daughter.
The widow, who relies solely on Social Security, was unaware that her daughter had placed a large second mortgage on her home years earlier. By the time the widow discovered the fraud, both the first and second mortgages were in serious default, with foreclosure proceedings imminent. Yet even with the reduced figure, the widow's limited income made any settlement impossible without additional financing.
