Harrow House Films to Release the Horror Series Surviving La Llorona

LOS ANGELES - Californer -- Texas-based production and distribution company, Harrow House Films, will be releasing the supernatural thriller series, Surviving La Llorona. The three episode series will be available on the Harrow House Films' Youtube page beginning May 15, 2025 and is now available on Prime TVOD. Surviving La Llorona was written and directed by Anubys Lopez and stars Cassandra Luna, Maria Schenck, Alfredo Resendez, Micah Obregon, Dave McClain, Andreina Dewendt, Cesar Castillo and Miguel Alvarez. Some of Anubys's other credits include Something Scary to Talk About, Aged and Those Who Call, all currently available on the free streaming app Tubi.

Surviving La Llorona delves into real-life haunting experiences of individuals who have come face to-face with La Llorona, the weeping woman of Mexican folklore who haunts rivers and lakes, crying for her lost children. The legend varies, but the basic story is that she drowned her children and is now condemned to search for their souls forever. Through their narratives, the series uncovers the enduring power of this terrifying legend.

Anubys Lopez is a Cuban American film director and writer based in Houston, Texas. He is recognized for his work in the horror and thriller genres, often drawing inspiration from true events and local folklore. His distinctive style is marked by abrupt, shocking endings and a deliberate focus on making his audience feel uneasy. Lopez believes that true horror is psychological rather than physical, crafting films that evoke fear through realism creating scenarios that could very well happen to the viewer.
