LOS ANGELES - Californer -- Texas-based production and distribution company, Harrow House Films, will be releasing the supernatural thriller series, Surviving La Llorona. The three episode series will be available on the Harrow House Films' Youtube page beginning May 15, 2025 and is now available on Prime TVOD. Surviving La Llorona was written and directed by Anubys Lopez and stars Cassandra Luna, Maria Schenck, Alfredo Resendez, Micah Obregon, Dave McClain, Andreina Dewendt, Cesar Castillo and Miguel Alvarez. Some of Anubys's other credits include Something Scary to Talk About, Aged and Those Who Call, all currently available on the free streaming app Tubi.
Surviving La Llorona delves into real-life haunting experiences of individuals who have come face to-face with La Llorona, the weeping woman of Mexican folklore who haunts rivers and lakes, crying for her lost children. The legend varies, but the basic story is that she drowned her children and is now condemned to search for their souls forever. Through their narratives, the series uncovers the enduring power of this terrifying legend.

When discussing the film, director Anubys Lopez says, "I grew up hearing the stories — we all did. But making Surviving La Llorona showed me just how real the fear still is. These people didn't just believe in her… they survived her. And after hearing their stories, you might never hear her cries the same way again."
Rob Lazaro, who serves as an executive producer of the film adds, "I was ecstatic to tell these stories with director Anubys Lopez's unique vision and style. Surviving La Llorona's personal accounts are each more suspenseful and eerie than the next. The Harrow House team has created something that will transcend cultural and language barriers. I am proud to share these unique accounts with an audience who will hopefully both fear and relate to these stories."
