Innovative Program Aims to Improve Medical Testing Capabilities
SAN DIEGO - Californer -- iAssay announced this week that they have been awarded a Phase 1 SBIR (Small Business Innovation Research) Award through AFWERX. iAssay makes a patent-protected medical device called SimpleTest™ that can interpret test results and transmit preserved imaging and quantitative results electronically from point of care (PoC) and standard rapid diagnostic devices to doctors, laboratories, and other governmental agencies.
AFWERX is a United States Air Force program which aims to foster a culture of innovation within the service. Part of the AFWERX mission is to find innovative companies that can move with agility to bring leading-edge scientific capabilities and accelerate commercialization using military missions. iAssay is part of an elite group of small businesses selected. "We are honored to work with the military and will strive to bring flexible, robust and improved medical testing, like SimpleTest™, to market," said Lonnie Adelman, CEO and Founder of iAssay. "In addition to the Cloud-based data integration that SimpleTest provides, the device eliminates human error in the interpretation of test results."
