Long Beach, CA ~ Long Beach, CA - The City of Long Beach is hosting an Open House on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the LBWIN Adult Career Services Center (4811 Airport Plaza Dr.). The event is organized by the Department of Economic Development & Opportunity (EDO) and aims to provide information about EDO and Long Beach Workforce Innovation Network (LBWIN) programs and services. Businesses, residents, and public-private sector partners are encouraged to attend and connect with City staff.
The Open House also marks the official renaming of EDO, formerly known as the Economic Development Department. This change is part of the recent Fiscal Year 2026 Budget adoption and better reflects the department's core mission of creating equitable economic opportunities for workers, investors, and entrepreneurs in Long Beach. As of today, Oct. 1, the department's new name is in effect.
