Long Beach, CA ~ Long Beach, CA - As summer comes to a close, the City of Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine (PRM) is gearing up to host a free concert featuring the popular Southern California band, RemiX. The event will take place on Friday, Sept. 4, 2026 at El Dorado Park West (2800 N. Studebaker Rd.), and community members are invited to join in on the fun.
According to Mayor Rex Richardson, this concert will be the perfect way to bid farewell to summer. "We are excited to bring together our community for one last unforgettable evening of free live music," he said.
The festivities will kick off at 5 p.m. with pre-concert activities such as face painting and games. The main event will begin at 6 p.m. and run until 8 p.m., located near the corner of Studebaker Road and Willow Street. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic-style dinners and snacks to enjoy while they watch the show.

RemiX is a tribute band known for their unique blend of funk, R&B, and new jack swing music. Their performances are known for taking audiences on a musical journey through all the greatest party hits of the 80s and 90s.
This concert marks the end of a successful summer season for PRM, which hosted a total of 76 free and low-cost events throughout Long Beach. These included popular events such as Movies in the Park viewings, Long Beach Municipal Band performances, El Dorado Nature Center Summer Concert Series, and Be S.A.F.E Movies.
In addition to these events, PRM also partnered with the City's Office of Special Events and Filming for seven free watch parties in Long Beach parks as part of their Soccer in the LBC initiative. These recreational programs and events align with PRM's Parks Make Long Beach Strategic Plan, which aims to uplift the community through meaningful activities.
