Long Beach, CA ~ Long Beach, CA - As the summer season approaches, the City of Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine (PRM) is gearing up to welcome it with a free concert featuring the Under Cover Band. The concert will take place on Friday, May 24 at El Dorado Park West, located on Studebaker Road north of Willow Street.
According to Mayor Rex Richardson, "Summer is upon us, and we are thrilled to welcome the warm summer nights with our annual kickoff concert." He encourages music lovers of all ages to come out and enjoy a Long Beach summer night with an evening of free, family-friendly fun.
The concert will run from 6 to 8 p.m. and attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and picnic dinners to enjoy on the lawn. "The summer season is a time for outdoor family fun, and what better way to kick it off than with a free concert at El Dorado Park West," says Fourth District Councilman Daryl Supernaw.

PRM Director Brent Dennis also expressed his excitement for the upcoming event stating, "I invite all residents to come out to El Dorado Park West on Friday, May 24th and join in a Long Beach summer tradition that kicks off a season of music in our parks throughout the city."
In addition to the summer kickoff concert, PRM has planned a variety of other free, family-friendly events for this summer including Movies in the Park, Long Beach Municipal Band Concert Series and ensembles at the El Dorado Nature Center.
