~ The City of Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine (PRM) is set to welcome the summer season with a free concert featuring the ultimate 80's party dance band, FlashPants. The concert will take place on Friday, May 26 at El Dorado Park West located on Studebaker Road north of Willow Street.
Mayor Rex Richardson said, "Hundreds of free, family-friendly activities are planned at our city parks all summer long. I encourage all residents to kick off the summer with this great concert."
The event will begin at 5 p.m. with free kid's activities such as face painting and moon bounces. The concert will take place from 6 to 8 p.m., and attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and picnic dinners to enjoy on the lawn.

Fourth District Councilman Daryl Supernaw said, "El Dorado Park West is the perfect place to kick off the summer season. Residents will enjoy an evening of music, dancing and family-friendly fun!"
PRM Director Brent Dennis added that their free concert on Memorial Day Weekend is a summer tradition that hundreds of families enjoy every year. He also noted that in addition to this event, PRM will also host a variety of other free, family-friendly events throughout the summer such as Movies in the Park and Long Beach Municipal Band Concert Series performances at El Dorado Nature Center.
