LOS ANGELES - Californer -- Actor, writer, producer and director Marcus D. Spencer, known professionally as "Big Spence," adds another notable acting credit to his growing résumé with the nationwide release of the sci-fi horror thriller Alien Storm. The film stars Tom Arnold, Glenn Plummer, Kevin Sorbo, Robert Standley and Spencer and is now available on Apple TV.

Spencer portrays Stanley, appearing opposite veteran actor and comedian Tom Arnold, who plays Mayor Walker. His journey to Alien Storm began while working on the horror film Camp Pleasant Lake, where he met filmmaker Adam Werth, who served as first assistant director.

At the time, Werth and filmmakers Sonny Mahal and the late Michael Mahal had recently completed the script for Alien Storm. While on set, Spencer was approached about joining the upcoming production as Stanley. That conversation ultimately led to Spencer joining a cast filled with recognizable Hollywood talent.

Alien Storm marks Werth's second feature as a director. He also co-wrote the story with Sonny and Michael Mahal. The film's release carries additional significance following Michael Mahal's passing last year, adding another project to the filmmaker's creative legacy.

The film follows Frank McConnelly, played by Robert Standley, a successful businessman, loving family man and secret doomsday prepper. During an extravagant celebration at his Las Vegas mansion, a mysterious weather phenomenon begins cutting off communications with cities around the world. When a massive fog bank moves in, Frank leads his guests into an elaborate underground bunker—only to discover that something dangerous and hungry may be lurking in the fog.

The release comes during an especially active period for Spencer. He recently unveiled a teaser for his upcoming Fresno-shot feature 6 Degrees, which is currently awaiting an official release date.

Spencer is also in production on his 26th feature film, Deadly End: Cameron's Return, serving as writer, producer, director and lead actor. The film is the fourth installment in the Dead End franchise and the first written and directed by Spencer. Franchise creator Jordan F. Ghanma wrote and directed the first three installments: Dead End, Dead End Demon and Psychopath.
