HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - Californer -- At 6 feet 5 inches and 310 pounds, Landon Brittain is one of the largest working actors in Hollywood. His physical presence may open the door to intimidating roles, but Brittain is determined to build a career defined by range, intelligence, and character rather than size alone.
"There is a version of this where I put on a mask, grunt at the hero, and collect a check," Brittain said. "That was never the plan. I want the scene where the room goes quiet because of something I said, not something I threw."
Brittain appears in the feature thriller The Pool Boy, premiering Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the historic TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. The premiere arrives during a breakout stretch for the Los Angeles-based actor and producer, professionally known as LandonXXL.
Brittain also stars as Greg in 'Twas the Fight Before Christmas, directed by Louise Linton for Stormchaser Films and streaming everywhere this Christmas. Greg is one of a band of thieves intent on looting a Bel Air mansion. The action comedy is the largest production of Brittain's career to date and gives him an opportunity to trade traditional menace for humor.

That range is central to the argument Brittain is making with his current work. In the series Blood Tax, directed by Gabriela Kostadinova, he portrays Zdravko and carries an extended campfire monologue built around stillness, emotional control, and voice rather than physical intimidation.
Brittain's journey to acting did not begin in a conservatory. Raised in Medicine Lodge, Kansas, on a diet of Marvel comics and whole milk, he earned bachelor's degrees in physics, mathematics, and mechanical engineering. He later completed a Master of Science in mechanical engineering at Washington University in St. Louis, all while playing collegiate football.
He eventually moved to Los Angeles in search of greater opportunity. Hollywood answered quickly. Within one year of arriving, and without formal acting training, Brittain was cast in Netflix's The Guardians of Justice, appearing across seven episodes. Additional credits followed, including leading roles in the short films Ghosted and The Pink Elephant, the action short Aria, and an appearance in the 100 gecs music video "Billy Knows Jamie."
Brittain's upcoming work includes the lead role in Carnivore, along with BloodHunt and GodHead. GodHead recently received the LA Film Festival's Top Independent Film award. He has also expanded behind the camera, producing through Castle Productions with credits that include The Experiment and Ghosted.

Brittain is SAG-AFTRA eligible, based in Los Angeles, and available as a local hire. He is represented by Nelson Parks at The ESI Network and Bailey Harrison at Exclusive Artists Agency.
