Industry professionals bring real-world experience to the classroom, strengthening Moorpark College's commitment to career-ready education

MOORPARK, Calif. - Californer -- The Moorpark College Theatre Arts Department is pleased to announce the addition of new faculty members to assist students in their entertainment career paths. Casting Director Jane Flowers will be teaching Audition Techniques and Tim Hornor will be teaching Improvisational Comedy this upcoming Fall 2025 semester.

After receiving her MFA from UCLA in Acting, Jane Flowers transitioned into casting in 2011.  She has been nominated for two Artios Awards which celebrates excellence in casting for TV, film, theatre and commercials.  Her casting credits include "Daisy Jones and the Six" (Amazon), "Seal Team" (CBS), "Dreamquil" (independent feature), and "Die Hart" (Roku). She is a member of the Casting Society of America.

"My favorite thing is to create a safe space where actors feel comfortable to explore and discover new things," said Flowers of teaching at Moorpark College, "especially when it comes to auditions."

Tim Hornor can currently be seen playing Patrick Doumbe, aka The Third Man, in "The Residence" on Netflix.  Tim moved to Los Angeles in 2005 and has been working as an actor since. He studied at The Groundlings and was asked to join the prestigious Groundlings Sunday Company. His extensive background in improvisation has helped him book over 100 television commercials and co-star and guest starring roles in TV shows such as "Modern Family," "Parks and Recreation," "Brooklyn 9-9," and "NCIS."

"I am thrilled to be working with new actors at Moorpark College," said Hornor, "and I love to use improv as a tool to unlock an actor's presence and playfulness."

"One of the reasons the Theatre Arts program at Moorpark College has earned its stellar reputation is that we have prioritized bringing industry professionals on all levels into our classrooms," said Suzanne Fagan, Full-time Theatre Arts faculty member.  "These new faculty members share amazing stories from their time on set and instruct on what works best for actors in an audition as well as what to be aware of to maximize their efforts while also protecting themselves on the set and in the industry.  I am so excited for the students at Moorpark College to have these talented individuals who genuinely have a passion to help them succeed as performers."
