SAN FRANCISCO, July 17, 2024 ~ Music City San Francisco Takes a Giant Step Towards Fulfilling Its Dual Mission with New Label Imprint and Rudy Colombini's "Message of Love" Album
In a major move towards fulfilling its dual mission, Music City San Francisco has announced a new label imprint in partnership with music giant Mi5/Universal Music Group. The newly revamped $30 million, 30,000 sq. ft. complex, located in the heart of San Francisco, aims to create opportunities for local musicians and restore the city to its rightful place on the international music map.
The partnership between Music City SF and Mi5/UMG will kick off with the release of Rudy Colombini's album "Message of Love." The album, which captures a timeless sound and sentiment, counters the negative narrative surrounding San Francisco and offers hope and inspiration in uncertain times. It has already gained recognition with adult contemporary and alt rock radio play in major markets across the US and Europe, ranking at No. 23 on the DRT Global Rock Radio Chart.
President Ted Mason of Mi5 Recordings/Universal Music Group brings his expertise as a former member of hit band Modern English and multi-platinum music producer to the collaboration. With access to distribution, marketing funding, social media support, production services, and more through Mi5/UMG's global offices, this partnership opens up new opportunities for artists within the San Francisco music scene.

For Rudy Colombini, this is a career culmination as he releases his first album through a major distribution channel after recording original music for four decades and leading The Unauthorized Rolling Stones for nearly as long. The album originally charted in the Top 40 upon its release in 1998 but has been rereleased by Universal Music Group due to its timeless sound and message.
To celebrate this milestone release, an album release party will be held on July 25th at Music City San Francisco. The complex boasts five stages, 20 streaming-enabled rehearsal rooms, a music-themed hotel/hostel, bar/restaurant, and an 80-exhibit SF Music Hall of Fame. With the addition of the Universal imprint label, Music City SF is now a platform that empowers and exposes Bay Area musical talent.
Founder Rudy Colombini's vision for Music City SF as a playground for musicians and fans alike has earned him the title of "the 'Willy Wonka of the Rock World'" by Canadian publication Range Magazine's Guide to San Francisco. His goal is to awaken San Francisco's artistic soul and provide a space for creativity, performance, and fun in a city known for its high rents and costs.
