**SACRAMENTO —** Gov. Gavin Newsom announced four appointments Wednesday, including a new director for the California Department of General Services and three appointments to state boards.
Jason Kenney of Carmichael was appointed director of the Department of General Services, where he has served as chief deputy director since 2023. He has held several roles at the department since 2016, including deputy director of Real Estate Services and deputy director of Strategic Planning, Policy and Research. Kenney previously worked at the Department of State Hospitals. His appointment requires Senate confirmation, and the position pays $239,858. He is registered without party preference.
Patricia Barahona of Modesto was reappointed to the State Bar of California's Board of Trustees, where they have served since 2023. Barahona is chief executive officer of the Youth Leadership Institute and owner of Them Tops, LLC. They also serve as treasurer of the Central Valley Journalism Collaborative. The position requires Senate confirmation and pays $50 per diem. Barahona is a Democrat.

Jose Cisneros of San Francisco was also reappointed to the State Bar board, which he has served on since 2019. Cisneros has been San Francisco's treasurer since 2004 and is a board member of the Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund. His appointment requires Senate confirmation and pays $50 per diem. He is a Democrat.
Ajay Bhutoria of Fremont was appointed to the Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists. He has led Global Business Consulting Services since 2006 and served on the President's Advisory Commission on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders from 2021 to 2024. The appointment does not require Senate confirmation and pays $100 per diem. Bhutoria is a Democrat.
