SAN DIEGO, March 5, 2025 ~ North Island Credit Union is now accepting applications for their highly sought-after Summer Internship Program, designed specifically for college students. This program, now in its fourth year, offers paid internships to provide students with valuable professional work experience and mentorship opportunities across various departments within the organization.
According to North Island Credit Union President and CEO Steve O'Connell, the program is an integral part of the credit union's commitment to supporting education and providing students with hands-on experience that can open doors to future career opportunities. O'Connell stated, "An important part of our educational support initiatives is providing hands-on work experience and mentoring local students to help open doors to a future career."

The Summer Internship Program has been highly successful in integrating students into teams across the credit union, allowing them to apply their classroom knowledge in a real-world business setting. Students can choose from a variety of departments including Business Banking, Business Insights & Analytics, Consumer Lending, Deposit Operations, Digital & Event Marketing, Information Security, IT Help Desk, Learning & Development, Operations Support and Wealth Management.

The internships will provide practical work experience within and across multiple departments, as well as leadership development skills and school-to-career readiness. Selected interns will receive direct training and mentoring from managers during their paid full-time (30-40 hours/week) positions at the credit union's San Diego headquarters office from June 16th through August 15th.
