SANTA MONICA, Calif. - Californer -- p.o.p. candy co., turned the nationwide shelter in place order into an opportunity for company growth, through the adoption of new business tactics and budding online presence.
Co-founders Rachel Flores and her husband Bill Waiste implemented new online marketing and retail sales strategies while still upholding their company standards.
"Instead of counting on live events, we're building our online presence to connect with current customers and introduce ourselves to a new audience," said Flores, p.o.p. candy co. co-founder. "This situation forced us to shelter-in-place, but also gave us time to stay engaged with our customers in a way that's been really fun and gratifying."
Flores and Waiste used their creativity to come up with various promotions to help comfort their community including a "p.o.p. comfort sale" and a "hugs" variety assortment of the butter crunch candy. More is in the works!
"Serving our customers with integrity, consistency, and high-quality products is always our number one priority. That way, we ensure a fantastic experience for our customers, no matter how they discover us," said Flores. "One thing I know for sure is that we've developed a tough skin in this business."

About p.o.p. candy co.
An LA-based business that was created because of an affection and nostalgia for childhood. The company got its name from the Santa Monica Amusement Park, Pacific Ocean Park, that is no longer around. The amusement park inspired Bill Waiste and Rachel Flores to make a product that brought a smile to people's faces and gave them the heart-warming feeling of innocence. Today Pop Candy Co. butter crunch continues to be handmade in small batches and is proud to use clean ingredients like farmers market herbs, fine spices, and all-natural extracts. Using almonds, pecans, cashews, pistachios, walnuts, and seeds. No peanuts or soy and our choice to opt to use brown rice syrup instead of corn syrup so everyone can enjoy the special treats. Pop Candy Co. Products are available online and in stores around the country including Bristol Farms, Erewhon Market, VicenteFoods, Nugget Markets, Draegers Market, and Plum Market.
