Custom Bennett Awards for Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge 2024 Race Past The Finish Line
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Californer -- Porsche and Bennett Awards have teamed up to create an exceptional set of custom trophies for the 2024 Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge, a prestigious event that celebrates the artistry and expertise of Porsche Centers across the United States. Designed to reflect Porsche's tradition, innovation, and commitment to excellence, the custom trophies are as high-performance as the cars they represent.
The Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge invites participants to showcase their skills in three categories: Preservation, Restoration, and Individualization. Entrants are tasked with restoring classic Porsche vehicles to their original glory, or enhancing them with Porsche Genuine Parts. For this competition, Porsche sought a trophy that embodied both the rich heritage and high-performance spirit of their brand.

Bennett Awards, known for its exceptional craftsmanship, collaborated closely with Porsche to create a trophy that would stand out. Instead of a more conventional car-shaped trophy, the team envisioned an innovative, vertically oriented sculpture that reflects the dynamic nature of Porsche vehicles. The resulting design is inspired by a racetrack, symbolizing the brand's racing legacy and the cyclical process of automotive restoration.
The racetrack design, featuring sweeping curves, conveys the speed and movement central to the Porsche experience. The award is crafted using 3D printing technology, ensuring precise detailing. The racetrack is coated in matte white, while miniature Porsche cars from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s—painted in signature Porsche colors of red and black—appear to race down the track. This attention to detail not only celebrates Porsche's legacy but also connects past models with the future of automotive restoration.

Bennett Awards faced the challenge of delivering a premium product within a set budget. Instead of metal, they chose durable, lightweight Ballistic nylon, maintaining the design's premium aesthetic while keeping costs manageable. The awards are mounted on solid black marble bases, providing a sense of elegance and balance.
A standout feature is the Grand National Champion award, the largest of the trophies, standing at 14 inches tall. This trophy is mounted on a taller base to distinguish it as the pinnacle of achievement in the competition.
Unveiled at the awards ceremony on October 4, 2024 at the Petersen Automotive Museum, the custom awards captured the essence of Porsche's brand and the artistry of the restoration process. Porsche's team praised the outcome, making the collaboration with Bennett Awards a success in both design and craftsmanship.
The custom awards are more than just trophies—they are symbols of automotive excellence, innovation, and the timeless process of restoring Porsche's iconic vehicles. As lasting symbols of achievement, they honor the brand and the skilled craftsmen who master the art of Porsche restoration.
