The Daisy Lane Parade has a rich history dating back to 1953 when it was first organized by Gertrude Whittle. Originally, it was a joint effort between the Long Beach City Council and Council of Churches to decorate the grass median on Daisy Avenue with a Christmas Village and nativity scene. Over the years, it has grown in size and popularity with participation from nearby residents. Today, the parade is presented by the City and Seventh Council District and is overseen by the Wrigley Area Neighborhood Alliance and Maria Norvell, also known as the "Mother of Christmas Tree Lane" for her role in founding the parade.
More information about this year's Daisy Lane Parade and night of entertainment will be released in the coming weeks on longbeach.gov/daisyparade.
