ANAHEIM, Calif. - Californer -- Speakaboo, a leading visual assistance app, has unveiled Speakaboo Shortcuts and the new Speakaboo Shortcuts Library, bringing groundbreaking flexibility and customization to blind and low-vision users. This major update, announced at the CSUN Assistive Technology Conference on March 14, empowers users to interact seamlessly with their visual environment through personalized, pre-written prompts activated via Apple's Shortcuts.
The newly launched Shortcuts Library features over two dozen fully customizable shortcuts, meticulously designed to address everyday use cases—such as quickly identifying mail recipients, reading exact text without summarization, or discerning colors instantly. Each shortcut can be tailored precisely to individual needs, significantly reducing the steps needed to gain visual insights and making routine tasks faster and easier.
Additionally, Speakaboo introduced the "Custom Shortcut Template," enabling users to effortlessly create their own prompts. This template not only enhances usability but also resolves a known VoiceOver compatibility challenge by offering a dedicated, easy-to-edit text node.

"With Speakaboo Shortcuts and the Shortcuts Library, we've given users an unprecedented level of control and simplicity, allowing them to tailor their experiences precisely."
The Shortcuts Library is also designed to foster community engagement, inviting users to submit their own custom shortcuts directly through Speakaboo's newly redesigned website (https://speakaboo.app). User-submitted shortcuts, upon approval, will be featured prominently alongside official shortcuts, complete with attribution to creators.
