These Premium Experiences, Specifically for Inbound Visitors, will be held at the Observation Deck on Select Dates in November and December 2024.
TAITO-KU, Japan - Californer -- On October 4, 2024, TOKYO SKYTREE began selling Premium Experience Traditional Performing Arts Programs for overseas visitors. These special programs will be held at the Observation Deck on select dates in November and December 2024 (see below). They will allow visitors to enter the deck before or after opening hours, with time to experience Sumida Ward's local Japanese culture. Sample experiences include dance performances by Geisha from the Hanamachi entertainment district, sumo wrestling demonstrations by former sumo wrestlers, and photo opportunities.
Plan 1 – Night Experience
Participants will be dazzled with the breathtaking night lights of Tokyo - one of the world's largest cities - sparkling through the expansive observation deck windows of TOKYO SKYTREE – the world's tallest freestanding broadcast tower. This private after-business-hours night view will be enhanced by a guided interpreter, who will introduce guests to an authentic, traditional geisha dance performance, a cultural heritage of the Sumida entertainment district since the Edo period (1603-1868). Drinks, snacks and a take-home souvenir of Edo Kiriko – traditional-style Edo-period cut glass – will be provided. A professional photographer will capture everything in commemorative photos for all guests.

They are considering how to respond to the increasing number of foreign visitors and their diversifying needs. At the same time, the area around the base of the TOKYO SKYTREE, including the Mukojima Hanamachi entertainment district and the traditional craft artisan district, is charming and still relatively undiscovered by foreigners.
