When I clicked Amazon's link to see who my critic was nothing came up, so this review had no author, no content, and no record of any review, yet it was posted as a one star review, which I call a ghost review.
SAN DIEGO - Californer -- I spent a year researching, writing, and editing Death: (A Love Story) knowing that the taboo subject would be a tough sell, but the drive to express what I uncovered in my research fueled my passion.
I wrote Death: (A Love Story) in first person addressing the reader as if spoken by Death itself, so it was published as fiction as opposed to the philosophical treatise it also is. I knew its reception had its challenges, but I received stellar five star reviews. When I checked in with Amazon, to my disappointment I discovered that my rating was 73% due to a one star review with no attribution.
After an exchange of numerous emails, screen shots, URLs, ISBN numbers and other indicators of the problem, Amazon refused to acknowledge the issue and refused to do anything about it.

On a related note, in the midst of all this I made three attempts to upload a promotional video which Amazon rejected without explanation. You can view it here and see that it follows Amazon's "guidelines" and contains nothing offensive

I can only conclude that people fear Death and its inevitability which is one of the reasons I wrote the book in the first place, especially in this all too real time of covid.
I suspect that disembodied spirits are at work at Amazon anonymously trying to silence the voice of Death with no explanation. Maybe it is because Death has yet to accept these malcontents, and maybe that is because they fear the greater reality that Death is.
In the end it doesn't matter because their efforts are doomed to fail when Death ultimately silences them.
After all, Death always wins out in the end...
