Participants in the Nov. 20, event will have access to free COVID-19 testing, health screenings for blood pressure and blood glucose, and health information and education on heart-health, stress, anxiety and sleep. CPR demonstrations and practice sessions also will be available.
Worksite Labs, in partnership with Peace Chapel Church, began its effort in the South Los Angeles community in July, providing free COVID-19 testing, vaccines, health education and screenings aimed at narrowing the gap in health services for underserved communities. Peace Chapel Church has been supporting surrounding neighborhoods with weekly distribution of fresh produce, along with masks and hand sanitizer since the start of the pandemic.
"We've been in South L.A. for nearly five months, and we want to celebrate the community's commitment to alleviating COVID-19 by stepping up their testing regimens and getting vaccinated," said Gary Frazier, Worksite Labs CEO. "Sharing a Thanksgiving meal is our way of honoring residents and their commitment to staying healthy."
