Allegheny General Hospital Welcomes Emmy-Winning Drama Series 'THE PITT' Back for Season Two Filming

PITTSBURGH, Sept. 19, 2025 ~ Allegheny General Hospital (AGH) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is once again making headlines as it serves as a filming location for the critically acclaimed Max Original drama series, 'THE PITT.' The hospital, which is part of Allegheny Health Network (AHN), will be featured in the show's second season as production returns to film scenes this week.

The filming locations at AGH will include the hospital's LifeFlight helipad, a rooftop with scenic views of the city, and various entryways to the facility. While interior scenes will continue to be filmed on set at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California, which has meticulously replicated the unique architectural and historic details of AGH.

Starring Noah Wyle, 'THE PITT' is a realistic portrayal of the current challenges facing healthcare workers in America. The show follows the lives of frontline heroes working in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh. Since its premiere on HBO Max earlier this year, the series has received significant attention for its accurate depiction of the current healthcare landscape. It recently won five Emmy® Awards out of 13 nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series.

Despite being featured on a national stage, hospital officials assure that patient care and operations will not be impacted during filming. "We are proud to welcome back the production team and continue our partnership with this important series that highlights the dedication and resilience of healthcare professionals."

The show is produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television and created by R. Scott Gemmill. Among its executive producers are John Wells and Michael Hissrich, both graduates from Carnegie Mellon University.

Pittsburgh-native Hissrich expressed his excitement about returning to his hometown to film the second season. "Allegheny General Hospital and Pittsburgh itself were such a big part of the visual impact of our first season. We're very excited to be back in town to show the city and hospital in season two," he said.
