~ SACRAMENTO - Governor Gavin Newsom has made several key appointments today, August 6, 2024, to various positions within the state government.

Among the appointments announced by Governor Newsom is Louis "Lou" Butera as the new State Printer at the Department of General Services. Butera brings a wealth of experience to this role, having previously served as Vice President of Operations at Direct Marketing Solutions and Senior Account Executive at Canon Solutions America. In other news, Governor Newsom reported that there have been over 1,000 arrests in Bakersfield since April due to an ongoing enforcement collaboration between the California Highway Patrol and Bakersfield Police Department.
