HAYWARD, Calif. - Californer -- PRESS RELEASE May 11th, 23
Bad eating habits are the causative factor of many health problems - from Diabetes to High Blood Pressure
Dr.Abhay Kumar Pati,
Ayurvedic Physician, Author, Researcher and Scientist
DIABETES:
Many individuals suffer from Type 2 diabetes, due mostly from unhealthy eating habits, consuming too much carbohydrates, white flour, white sugar, rice, wheat products and even fruit (some of which contain a high percentage of sugar).
Excessive sugar kills the pancreatic enzymes and depresses insulin which is necessary to regulate sugar. When the sugar level increases in the blood, the person suffers from Type 2 diabetes and gradually no anti-diabetic drug will work for them. As a chronic health problem, the individual suffering from Type 1 diabetes becomes insulin dependent. Some of these individuals suffer from a diabetic coma and ultimately end up in hospital emergency rooms. As we all are aware, the emergency health care system is expensive and it could cost millions.

Why isn't our Government Healthcare Agencies teaching and educating the public on better eating habits to control, prevent, and treat diabetes? It is much better alternative than becoming ill and going through the emergency health care remedies, treatments and cure. The main focus should be that SUGAR is bad for health.
HYPERTENSION:
Another health problem is high blood pressure (hypertension). Why do people suffer from this health problem and what can be done to prevent and treat hypertension? The first thing to focus on is teaching people not to have more than 2000 mg (2 gram) to 2500 mg (2.5gram) of tablet salt every day, which is called Sodium Chloride (NACL).
In its edible form, salt (also known as table salt) is commonly used as a condiments and as a food preservative. Large quantities of sodium chloride are used in cooking - such as fried and baked foods.
Sodium in food increases the flavor and taste, but it is a killer for blood pressure. Many individuals who suffer from hypertension for long periods of time, may eventually suffer from a stroke. Some end up in Emergency care hospitals and suffer for many years.

Our eating habits on hypertension must be guided by health care professionals, rather than treating this illness with only modern drugs.
Many medical professionals will agree that long-term use of these drugs cause damage to the kidneys, which may involve on-going dialysis treatments.
Conclusion:
We must avoid sugar and salt as much as possible and focus our attention on the prevention of these two health problems (diabetes and blood pressure) with improved food habits. Functional foods, nutrition and some natural herbs and herbal teas are also conducive for diabetes and hypertension.
