"Congratulations on winning this 2021 REMI film award. "HUBBLE SPACE WONDERS" is a tribute to NASA's Hubble Telescope and its sensational photos that wow audiences from Cape Canaveral to Culver City, CA," said J. Hunter Todd, Worldfest-Houston Founding Director.
"I am honored to win this REMI award. I hope this film reminds audiences that even during a pandemic, we can still gaze into the night sky just as Gallieo and many others once did to ponder the great beauty and wonders of space. Hubble helps us to do that with its never-seen-before images of the universe," said Stirling, the film's producer and director.
The doc short showcases Hubble's deep space imaging capabilities and features footage of Hubble's 1990 launch and former NASA Flight Director Bill Reeves giving the order to deploy Hubble with a resounding, "CapCom, we have a GO for release," thus launching Hubble's 30+ year history of staring into space.
HUBBLE SPACE WONDERS (HSW) will screen coast-to-coast beginning July 31 at the Woods Hole Film Festival, MA (virtual 7/31 & in-person 8/3) and on Aug 15 in Portland, OR at the Oregon Documentary Film Festival. HSW has also been named an Official Selection in two Australian festivals, notably SCINEMA, Australia's largest science film festival and the Space Faring Civilization Festival.
