Daisi Jo Pollard Sepulveda, former Miss Jamaica International 2005, model, runner, entrepreneur, and Texas land/oil heiress, announced Meta wrongfully deactivated her @daisijo Instagram for violating Community Standards.
LOS ANGELES - Californer -- Meta's automated algorithms wrongly flagged Daisi Jo Pollard Sepulveda's (@daisijo) Instagram content on child abuse awareness, a cause tied to her own survival, leading to its sudden deactivation. As a former Miss Jamaica International 2005, model, runner, entrepreneur, and Texas land/oil heiress, Sepulveda built a following with empowering posts on beauty, fitness, and resilience. After submitting an appeal on July 31, 2025, the review remains pending, with a risk of permanent disablement. "This punishes survivors for speaking out," Sepulveda said, noting Meta's algorithm revictimizes her by mislabeling her story as exploitation.
The issue stems from Meta's AI-driven moderation, which struggles to differentiate survivor testimonies from harmful content, especially with childhood photos. This mirrors influencer Erika Cramer's case, where her mental health advocacy led to a similar suspension in June 2025. Cramer, also an abuse survivor, called the accusation "ironic cruelty." Such targeting silences women raising awareness about child abuse, a global crisis, by cutting off support networks and perpetuating silence. "Sharing my resilience empowers others, yet Meta punishes us," Sepulveda added.

Inconsistency in enforcement adds frustration—smaller influencers face bans, while celebrities like Oprah share abuse stories with photos unscathed. "Does Oprah get banned, or just us without blue-check status?" Sepulveda questioned, highlighting bias toward high-follower accounts.
Sepulveda has launched @daisijopollard to continue her mission, urging followers to join her in advocating for empowerment and abuse awareness. She demands Meta improve algorithms with human oversight and context-aware AI. Supporters can follow @daisijopollard, use #JusticeForSurvivors, and contact Meta for policy changes.
