"We thought we were opening a bookstore, but what we found is that it's a community space," says Ruthie Myers-Porter.

Co-founder Danielle Myers-Porter adds, "People walk in and tell us, 'I've been waiting for a place like this.' That's what keeps us going—it's bigger than us."
