VENTURA, Calif. - Californer -- Health Care Foundation for Ventura County (HCFVC) proudly announces a significant philanthropic investment of $1,258,949 in essential medical equipment for Ventura County Medical Center (VCMC). This contribution reflects HCFVC's ongoing commitment to enhancing the public safety-net healthcare system and delivering high-quality, compassionate care for all residents of Ventura County. To date, HCFVC has secured and directed more than $14.5 million in charitable support to advance the work of the Ventura County Health Care Agency (HCA).
This latest equipment acquisition addresses high-priority clinical needs and will enhance diagnostic accuracy, improve patient safety, and increase the capacity to serve vulnerable populations across multiple departments.
Highlights of the investment include:
Philips Ingenia 1.5T DS MRI System: This state-of-the-art, non-invasive imaging system is a game-changing addition for VCMC, especially for pediatric and complex cases. Housed in a newly designed MRI suite, the system will improve patient flow, replace the temporary mobile unit, and support more efficient staff operations. Funding was made possible through the Aramont Charitable Foundation and the Weinberger Trust in memory of Dr. Laurence M. Weinberger.

BD Alaris Infusion Pump System: This smart infusion system ensures safe, precise delivery of medications across all pediatric units at VCMC. As the only licensed inpatient pediatric hospital and pediatric hematology/oncology clinic in Ventura County, this system will directly benefit some of the most at-risk patients. Funding was generously provided by the Roots & Wings Foundation, the National Charity League of Ventura County Juniors Chapter, and the Weinberger Trust.
Fluke VT900A Gas Flow Analyzer: This critical tool verifies the performance of ventilators and other respiratory devices, ensuring patient safety and compliance with regulatory standards. It allows in-house biomedical teams to quickly maintain essential equipment, saving both time and costs. This purchase was fully funded by the Weinberger Trust in memory of Dr. Laurence M. Weinberger.
"This substantial investment in advanced medical technology reflects our deep commitment to the health and well-being of Ventura County residents," said Amy Towner, CEO of HCFVC. "By equipping our healthcare providers with the tools they need, we not only improve outcomes for patients, but also help retain top talent and foster a stronger bond between the medical workforce and the community they serve."
