As a partner, Osman will continue to serve as General Counsel to the Firm.
LOS ANGELES - Californer -- Attorney Joel Osman has been elevated to partner at Parker Shaffie LLP, a downtown Los Angeles-based litigation, professional liability, legal ethics, and insurance coverage dispute and recovery firm. Osman takes on his new role effective January 1, 2024.
Osman joined Parker Shaffie in 2014 as senior counsel. Since 2016, Osman has served as the Firm's General Counsel. As a partner he will continue to serve as General Counsel to the Firm.
Throughout his career, Osman has represented clients in cases involving professional liability, general liability, product liability, construction defect and commercial litigation, trying numerous jury trials to verdict. At various points throughout his career, including his tenure with Parker Shaffie, much of his work has focused on the law of lawyering including representing plaintiffs and defendants in legal malpractice actions, representing lawyers who are the object of complaints made to the State Bar and providing advice on legal ethics.

Osman, on behalf of Parker Shaffie LLP is a frequent presenter of MCLE programs in which he primarily focuses on legal ethics.

Osman received his bachelor's degree in history from the University of California, San Diego and his law degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Law. His professional activities include membership in the Los Angeles County Bar Association's Professional Responsibility and Ethics Committee (where he was the chairperson from 2008 to 2009). He served on the State Bar's Committee on Professional Responsibility and Conduct from 2015 through 2018.
