Acclaimed film director, Lisa Arnold, will direct the Ruby Rock Films production of Hell Creek, an action thriller about a controversial fossil discovered in the Hell Creek region of Montana
LOS ANGELES - Californer -- Ruby Rock Films is excited to announce that Lisa Arnold will direct HELL CREEK, an action thriller that reignites the Creation v Evolution debate when a tyrannosaurus rex fossil is discovered in the Hell Creek region of Montana. The discovered fossil amounts to a scientific impossibility, with a race ensuing to either document or destroy the fossil.
"Lisa Arnold is not afraid to champion powerful causes," says Ruby Rock Films producer, James Houston Turner. Among her other films, Ms. Arnold is known for directing Caged No More, a 2016 film that took on the issue of human trafficking, and One Nation Under God, which focused on a student taking a stand for God in a school system that sought to ban such freedoms. She also worked on God's Not Dead and just won a Best Director award at the Content2023 Film Festival, for Bringing Back Christmas, where Hell Creek won a Best Screenplay award.

Turner, who lives in Austin and authored the script, says he was inspired to write Hell Creek by The Da Vinci Code. "The Da Vinci Code had a lot going for it," he says. "It was a hot-button topic that was both mysterious in its academic complexity yet personal in that it challenged the fundamentals of faith and religion. My hope is that Hell Creek will generate discussion for biblical historicity in the same way The Da Vinci Code generated sentiment against it."
He says a tempting way to have approached the story would have been as a classroom presentation or a debate. Instead, he chose to weave creationism-v-evolution threads into the fabric of a murder-mystery-cum-government-cover-up action thriller, with a heroic young couple facing off against a villainous United States Senator.
Hell Creek plans to begin filming in Texas during the second or third quarter of 2024.
