The Allies Pub Introduces the Anchor Membership Program in Downtown Chico
CHICO, Calif. - Californer -- The Allies Pub Introduces the Anchor Membership Program
Chico, CA — July 9, 2025
After successfully transitioning to a community-benefit nonprofit corporation earlier this year, The Allies Pub is inviting the public to learn about its next phase of community support—welcoming Anchor Members to help carry the legacy forward.
A public informational event will be held at The Allies Pub (426 Broadway, Suite 130, Chico) on Tuesday, July 15 at 5:00 PM, where current members and pub leadership will share how the model works, the impact it's already had, and how interested community members can get involved.
"As a small family-run business navigating the post-COVID hospitality landscape, we knew we needed to try something bold," said Emma Martin, Marketing & Event Planning Lead. "In the UK, community-owned pubs have been thriving—so we brought that idea to Chico. Thanks to our incredible Founding Members, we're still here, and ready to welcome the next generation of supporters."

Anchor Membership offers individuals the chance to co-own a vital local space and help shape its future as a cultural and social hub in downtown Chico. The Allies Pub is one of only a handful of venues in the United States operating under this type of model.
The informational meeting is open to all. Attendees can expect a short presentation of our plan, Q&A with current members and board representatives, and an inside look at how this project is helping redefine what it means to support local.
Come if you are interested in becoming a member; come if you are interested in volunteering; come if you're just interested in what we're doing!
