Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine to Offer a Variety of Recreation Classes This Fall

Long Beach, CA ~ Long Beach residents can start planning their fall activities as registration for new and existing recreation classes offered by the City of Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine (PRM) begins on Monday, Aug. 4, 2025. With over 700 activities catering to all ages and taking place throughout the city, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

From special interest subjects to classes in arts, music, nature, fitness, and sports leagues, PRM has a wide range of options available for residents ranging from preschoolers to older adults. Some highlights of the upcoming fall classes include Petit Ballet for children ages 2 years and six months to 6 years old, Creative Kids: Parent and Me Art Class for ages 2 to 3 years and 11 months old, and Biddy Soccer League for children aged 5 years and younger.

For youth aged 7 to 13 years old, there is Basic Cooking for Kids, Jammin Music Glee Club for ages 7 to 14 years old, and D-Up Ballers Basketball for ages 7 to 16 years old. Teens can participate in Drawing Fundamentals (ages16 years and up), Yoga with Lacey (ages16 years and up), or Jujitsu (ages13 years and up).

Adults can choose from classes such as Oil Painting (ages16 years and up), Latin Rhythms (ages18 years and up), or Forest Bathing: Shinrin-Yoku (ages12 years and up). For older adults aged 35 years and up, there is Round Dance Intermediate/Advanced: Drop In class available. Chair Based Yoga is also offered for those aged 50 years or older along with Zumba ® Gold Toning.

Residents can register for these classes starting on Aug.4 by visiting lbparks.org or calling the Registration Reservations Office at562.570.3111 between Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. They can also visit the Registration Reservations Office located at 2760 Studebaker Rd.

Classes will begin in September and continue through November. The latest issue of the Recreation Connection, PRM's programs catalog, will be available on Aug.4 at LBParks.org or at Long Beach Park Community Centers and Long Beach Public Library locations.
