Long Beach, CA ~ Long Beach, CA - As the winter season approaches, the City of Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine (PRM) is gearing up to offer over 700 classes, activities, sports and leagues for people of all ages and abilities. Registration for these programs will begin on Monday, Nov. 3, 2025.
From preschool age to older adults, there is something for everyone in this diverse lineup of classes. The classes will cover a wide range of interests including arts, cooking, dance, music, nature, fitness, sports and cultural programs. Classes will run from December 2025 through February 2026.
For the little ones, there are exciting options such as Hip Hop Tots for ages 2 years and six months to 5 years old. There is also a Parent and Me Pre-K Readiness class for ages 2 years to 3 years and 10 months. For newborns up to 4 years old, there is Little Campfire - Stories and Music.
Youth can choose from a variety of classes including Musical Theater for ages 7 to13 years old or Fiddle Scouts - Violin Class for ages 6 years and six months to 10 years old. For those interested in martial arts, there is Traditional Karate available for ages 5 to17 years old. And for basketball enthusiasts of all skill levels, there is D Up Ballers Youth Basketball program for ages 7 to16 years old.

Teens can learn new skills with Basic Cooking for Teens (ages 13-18), Dog Behavior Training (ages 10 and up), or try out a challenging workout with the popular fitness class "40-30-20 Interval Training" (ages16 and up).
Adults can also join in on the fun with classes like Belly Dance (ages18 and up), Adult Ukulele (ages18 and up), or Yoga (ages16 and up).
For older adults, there are classes specifically designed for their needs such as Senior Line Dancing (ages 50 and up), FUNctional Movement, Balance and Brains (ages 50 and up), and Zumba® Gold Toning (ages 50 and up).
Registration for these classes can be done online at LBParks.org or by calling 562.570.3111. In-person registration is also available at the Registration Reservations Office located at 2760 Studebaker Rd., Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
To view the full list of classes available this winter, residents can check out the latest issue of the Recreation Connection, PRM's program catalog, which will be available on LBParks.org or at Long Beach parks community centers and Long Beach Public Library locations starting Nov. 3.
