With COVID-19 sitting in the corner, your travel plans might be on loose. And getting stuck between changing or cancelling a flight is a bigger thought to give time to.

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - Californer -- If your travel plans have changed and you want to rebook or if you are considering cancelling your flight, then you must read this article to resolve the dilemma is it cheaper to cancel a flight or change it.

Below given points will help you understand what can be a better option- to change a flight or to cancel it:

To start with, rescheduling and cancellation of any flight depends totally upon the passenger and their preferred itinerary
Proper knowledge of if the flight type is a round trip or one-way journey
If the flight type is round trip, then smartest act would be to reschedule the flight and pay the applicable charges rather than cancelling it
To avoid any cancellation charges and need to amend only the return part of your journey, then you might want to book a brand new one-way flight for your return journey
If you want to adjust the timing of the flight, then you might be subjected to two options- standby and scheduled day change
For the scheduled day change, you might have to pay an extra amount while booking a seat on another flight of your choice. But if you are looking forward to cancelling it, then you might have to a huge amount to compensate for the change
Furthermore, some airlines allow you to cancel your flight free of cost if you are cancelling within 24 hours of booking

The answer favours rescheduling of flight when travellers ask the question- is it cheaper to cancel a flight or change it?
