TVS Classic Sports Network Celebrates 50 Years As a Non Broadcast Television Network

Founded in 1974 as the first basic cable network as All Sports / All Day, channel absorbed the major independent sports broadcast network libraries in the 1980's, then pioneered the streaming category as it morphed into a 24/7 streaming FAST network.

CANTIL, Calif. - Californer -- TVS Classic Sports Network is celebrating its 50th Anniversary as a non broadcast programming network. The channel is currently a 24/7 streaming FAST service on the WatchYour.TV platform, powered by Tulix. The channel draws from the 10,000 title TVS classic sports library.

The channel began in 1974 as All Sports / All Day on cable TV systems across the USA. It was a basic cable channel and was delivered by video tape. In 1976, TVS transmitted the first live national cablecast- a WHA Hockey game between the Birmingham Bulls and the Edmonton Oilers.

In the 1980's TVS was acquired by All Sports / All Day, as well as the Mizlou Television Network and Video Techniques. The network was rechristened TVS Classic Sports Network. In 2010, the channel became an early AVOD network and a short time later became one of the first FAST channels in the streaming era.

TVS Classic Sports Network programming includes NASL Soccer, Championship Boxing, College Football Bowl Games, LPBT Bowling, WFL Football, IWA Wrestling, College Basketball, PBA Senior and Regional Bowling, Virginia Slims Tennis, LPGA Golf, Arena Football, Pro Rodeo, NASCAR, CART, Grand Prix, SCORE Off Road Racing, AIAW Championships, APT Tennis, World Team Tennis, and many other televised sports events from the 20th Century.
