New native support helps AWS Partners adopt the Bill Transfer PMA and Bill Source model while preserving cost visibility, recommendations, historical data, and billing workflows.
RAANANA, Israel - Californer -- Umbrella today announced native support for AWS Billing Transfer onboarding, becoming the first FinOps platform with a purpose-built onboarding flow for the new AWS Billing Transfer model.
AWS Billing Transfer changes more than billing ownership. For AWS Partners, it affects how customer cost data is onboarded, reported, separated, and maintained across billing structures.
The new model introduces two account roles: the Bill Transfer account, which acts as the Partner Management Account, and the Bill Source account, which represents the customer organization transferring its bill. This creates new operational requirements around Cost and Usage Report exports, Billing Views, IAM configuration, partner-cost visibility, customer-facing rates, and reporting continuity.

Umbrella's native AWS Billing Transfer onboarding support is designed to help partners adopt this model without disrupting existing FinOps workflows.
With Umbrella, AWS Partners can onboard Billing Transfer structures while maintaining cost visibility, historical data, recommendations, billing workflows, and customer-facing reporting.
"Billing Transfer is a meaningful change for AWS Partners, but the operational work behind it can be complex," said David Drai, CEO of Umbrella. "Our goal is to make that transition practical, structured, and reliable, so partners can adopt the new billing model without rebuilding their FinOps process around it."
Umbrella's AWS Billing Transfer support includes guided onboarding for the Bill Transfer PMA and Bill Source model, continued cost visibility across billing structures, support for historical cost data, preserved recommendations and cost insights, showback and chargeback support, and a smoother path for AWS Partners managing customer cloud cost operations.
