SAN JOSE, Calif. - Californer -- Story by J.W. Young
In a startling debut amateur bout in the California Mixed Martial Arts Organization (CAMO) light-heavyweight fighter Hunter Young took this first fight personally on April 20th. He landed the win by way of TKO knockout in 50 seconds. Showcasing both tenacity and skill, this Central Valley fighter bore a hole in the standing MMA results with his sonic takedown of his opponent.
Young lives and trains in the wilderness in Fresno, California. He quickly carved his name in the MMA rankings in the debut match-up with opponent Robert Valenti. Young's unorthodox fighting style led the way to a quick finish in the resilient yet unyielding proving ground of the MMA cage.
At the Evolution Sports Expo, a multi-sport symposium, Young emerged as an exciting fighter to watch. Without a camp and unaffiliated, Young was energized when SF Combat's Steve Barnett stepped up to corner him as the newest fighter on the circuit.

At the opening bell, Young fiercely approached the center ring. The fighters circled briefly then exchanged leg kicks. Valenti landed a shot to Young's forehead knocking him off balance. Using falling momentum Young stays composed with a signature backwards roll to regain his feet and create distance. Valenti tries a flying kick, but Young catches the opponents outstretched leg midair, turns the leg outward and throws him on his side.
Young reclaims center ring and waits for the opponent to rise. Young's dagger leg kick spins Valenti like a pinwheel. He uses a stance switch, lands a jab from southpaw, then a left cross stuns the opponent and sends him falling back stiff to the mat.
Seizing the finish with a dominating ground and pound, the referee ends the fist flurry, at 50 seconds into the first round. Young's TKO finish was brilliant.
With unflinching determination to enter the Pro MMA circuit, he eagerly awaits his next match-up June 8th. Billed as "Young Vs Young," Nor-Cal Fighting Alliance presents "Rumble in the Valley" at the Coyote Valley Casino, Redwood Valley CA. Pro & Amateur MMA and Muay Thai fights start at 5:00 PM.
