The Californer/10287421

LOS ANGELES - Californer -- In "NORTH," Kendall weaves a narrative that delves into the repercussions of a seemingly innocent campaign slogan, "Make America Great Again", which exposes the dark underbelly of societal decay. The novel follows Winston Gale, whose life takes a nightmarish turn after he pens an expose in 2015 that costs him his job and sends him hurtling down a path of impulsive decisions with dire consequences for himself and his fiancée.

Motivated by a desire to pay homage to his ancestors and recreate his version of "The Great Migration," Winston's journey from Atlanta to Chicago [via the back woods of the South] quickly transforms into a descent into terror. The couple encounters a series of strange incidents, nightmarish creatures, and eerie revelations that threaten their lives in unimaginable ways.
