* Tech ~ Glendale, Calif. - 13-year-old Madison, also known as Maddie, had one wish that she held close to her heart – to learn all about the science and magic behind Disney theme parks from the very Imagineers who bring them to life. While undergoing treatment for leukemia, Maddie found solace in reading "The Imagineering Story" and watching "Behind the Attraction" on Disney+. These experiences inspired her to one day become an Imagineer herself and fueled her wish to meet the creative minds behind the beloved parks.

Little did Maddie know that her wish would be a historic milestone for both Disney and Make-A-Wish America. On July 17, 2025, during her first trip to Disneyland Resort, Maddie was surprised by Make-A-Wish America President and CEO Leslie Motter and Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D'Amaro with the news that she was Disney's 170,000th wish kid. This momentous occasion coincided with Disneyland's 70th anniversary, making it even more special.

Maddie's wish began with an exclusive VIP tour of Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) headquarters in Glendale. She was joined by five Imagineers for a special panel on Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance where she learned about the attraction's cutting-edge technology and creative process. She also had the opportunity to meet with Imagineers who shared insights about their work in ride technology, Audio-Animatronics figures, and Disney Live Entertainment. The tour also included a visit to the Imagineering Resource Center where Maddie explored sketches and archives showcasing the rich history of Imagineering and Disneyland Resort.

The following day at Disneyland, Maddie's wish continued as she was treated to a full day of fun by Imagineers. Her excitement peaked when she got a special walkthrough of Radiator Springs Racers at Disney California Adventure Park before heading over to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. There, she was once again surprised by D'Amaro, this time joined by Disneyland Resort President Thomas Mazloum and the BDX Droids.

Maddie's wish came full circle as she had the chance to ride Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run with Imagineers who worked on the attractions. The day ended with Maddie being recognized during The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade and a memorable tour of Walt Disney's apartment on Main Street, U.S.A. As a special memento, Maddie was presented with an autograph book signed by Imagineers.

Reflecting on her experience, Maddie shared, "Meeting the Imagineers felt like something out of a dream. I want to bring joy to people like they do." Her wish not only brought her joy but also marked a significant milestone for Disney and Make-A-Wish America. "We are honored that so many Make-A-Wish kids choose Disney," said D'Amaro. "Fulfilling Maddie's wish on Disneyland's 70th anniversary made the moment even more special."

Motter added, "Disney has been a steadfast supporter of Make-A-Wish since the beginning, and now 45 years later, we are making an even greater impact together. The granting of 170,000 wishes is a testament to their commitment to bringing hope and joy to wish kids and their families around the world."

Maddie's wish fulfilled her dream of learning from Imagineers and left her inspired to one day become an Imagineer herself. Her story serves as a reminder that even in difficult times, magic can still be found in unexpected places.
