Art Olivier, the former mayor of Bellflower, CA, announces his candidacy for president.
BELLFLOWER, Calif. - Californer -- Art Olivier is seeking the Libertarian Party's nomination for president in 2024.
Peace & Prosperity is the slogan for the campaign. As president, Art Olivier will bring the troops home from around the world and reduce the size of the federal government to its Constitutional limits so the people can live in peace and keep the wealth that they have earned.
Art has a passion for freedom. For over three decades, Art has championed the cause of freedom.
He was the 2000 Libertarian nominee for vice president. His running mate, Harry Browne, and Art were fierce campaigners in 2000 which led to a record high membership in the Libertarian Party that still stands. Art was on the road six days a week, racking up over one hundred media appearances on television, radio and newspapers.
Art was elected to the Bellflower city council in 1994 and became the mayor in 1998. During his five years on the city council, Olivier privatized Bellflower's tree trimming, crossing guards, street sweeping and the building department. He eliminated the city's lighting tax assessment and did not allow eminent domain to be exercised while on council.

Art was the 2006 Libertarian nominee for governor of California. The Schwarzenegger campaign was so afraid of an opponent that had more political experience that he and someone that cut taxes instead of raising them, they threatened or bribed anyone that had Art as a guest. Despite the interference, Art was on more talk radio shows than the other candidates combined.
1990 was Art's first campaign when he a ran as a Libertarian for state assembly. The 1994 incumbent in the 56th Assembly district, who ran for State Senate in 1996, promised Art a million dollars in campaign funds if Art ran as a Republican. Art turned it down since he did not enter politics to become beholden to special interest groups.
Art wrote and produced the political thriller, Operation Terror, that was released in 2012. The award winning feature film is based on actual under-reported events related to the September 11th terrorist attacks.
Art is finishing up a novel titled, Sandy Hooked, about the 2012 massacre that took place at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut. The book is based on two thousand pages of police reports that differ from the media reports.
The 2024 campaign will be a full-time campaign to educate the public on how their lives will improve with a Libertarian government and to build up the Libertarian Party.
