Transportation Engineering Firm Helps Protect Essential Transit Employees and Passengers from COVID-19
IRVINE, Calif. - Californer -- ADVANTEC Consulting Engineers, a California leader in Transportation, Smart Mobility, Intelligent Transportation Systems and Traffic Engineering, has donated 2,400 KN95 masks to the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) to help protect essential transit employees and passengers from COVID-19.
The donation was initiated by ADVANTEC's leadership team who understand the need for prioritizing health and safety of transit employees and the public. For many passengers, the OC Bus is the only transportation available to them to access medical care, food for their families or travel to their jobs. Public transit is an essential service and the OC Bus continues operating current schedules, day and night, during the state's stay-at-home order. Face coverings are required for all passengers and drivers, and OCTA provides face coverings to passengers onboard who need them.

"ADVANTEC's corporate responsibility centers around our guiding principle 'Because we Care'," stated Leo Lee, CEO of ADVANTEC and a Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California. "We strive to help the public agencies we serve, not only in our daily work to improve traffic and safety on our roadways, but also in meeting the needs of the community."
The masks were delivered to OCTA this week. This is the second mask donation made by ADVANTEC in the past several weeks. The company donated 3,500 masks to the City of San Diego in early December to help protect essential convention center staff and public safety officers involved with Operation Shelter to Home. This project is protecting the health of San Diegans experiencing homelessness and transitioning individuals to longer term housing.
