Long Beach, CA ~ Long Beach Resource Line to End Services After Five Years of Providing Vital Connections to Community Resources
The Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services (Health Department) has announced that the Long Beach Resource Line will be concluding its services on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2025. This decision comes after the expiration of temporary funding sources, including initial federal COVID-19 relief funds, which have sustained the program since its launch in 2020.
Initially established as part of the City's public health and emergency response to the pandemic, the Long Beach Resource Line has been a trusted source of information for residents seeking connections to essential services. Over the last five years, it has received over 10,000 calls and successfully connected 9,415 individuals to vital resources such as housing, food access, health care, mental health support, legal aid, and transportation.
Despite efforts to secure ongoing financial support for the program through additional funding streams in recent years, it has become clear that maintaining operations is no longer feasible. As a result, after Sept. 30th, live phone-based resource navigation through the hotline and immediate connection and referrals to health and social service providers tailored to individual needs will no longer be offered.

Residents can access this service by dialing 2-1-1 or visiting their website at 211la.org.
Additionally, Unite Us Resource Referral Map is a free online hub where residents can search for local health, housing, food, and social service resources in Long Beach through a coordinated-care network powered by Unite Us.
The Health Department also encourages community members to visit their website, call 562.570.4000, or follow @LBHealthDept on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to learn more about the programs and services they offer.
It is important to note that the sunsetting of the Resource Line was not caused by any loss of federal funding associated with Executive Orders or policy shifts under the current Presidential Administration. Furthermore, there have been no City staff layoffs as a result of this decision; impacted staff have been reassigned to other roles within the Health Department.
