LOS ANGELES - Californer -- 1:55pm, Saturday, May 3, 2025, the mini short film Hapless Revenge with Juneteenth Discussion will have its Los Angeles debut. A limited number of deeply discounted admission tickets are available online at AllEvents.by/PhilE.

Having premiered Juneteenth Eve 2024 in the shadow of an Old Sacramento, California former slave action block at Black owned Our Place, this Original Juneteenth Tale depicts a war-torn plantation being informed of the Emancipation Proclamation. The petite motion picture's unique look at a occurrence which took place in 1865 on multiple Texas plantations, explores the fact that many more people than African Americans were freed by President Abraham Lincoln's bold move to end United States chattel slavery.

Historically, June 19th is the date designated to commemorate the freeing of US slaves. Called Juneteenth, it was not until more than 2 1/2 years after the USA Civil War slavery ending edict was issued, that all Negros were informed that they were free.

Subsequently in 2021, US President Biden signed the Bill that designated Juneteenth as the newest official United States Federal Holliday, after last century's Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday was designated as such. During the past year Hapless Revenge has been presented in some 20 countries of the World as a docudrama instructional video which aims to encourage additional local, statewide and international governments to follow the US lead by making Juneteenth an official holiday which also celebrates freedom of all people in that particular government's jurisdiction.

Appearing first in the https://www.bhiff.org/ 4th annual Beyond Hollywood International Film Festival's 1:55pm May 3rd Movie Block 12B, Hapless Revenge will be followed by short film "Boxes and Elephants" and feature film "Akwaaba the Wakening". After this screening block, these three production's leaders will be engaged in a Q & A, where Hapless Revenge Producer & Co-Lead Actor, Phillip E. Walker, will attempt to share his chromatic work's above mentioned Worldwide political purpose.

As the current United States President has broken with our Country's long-standing tradition of striving to atone for past American atrocities which were perpetrated against its citizens and residents, Mr. Walker says, "it has never been more important to now celebrate freedom for all peoples. Therefore, as an art piece dedicated to that proposition, Hapless Revenge is most timely"!
