SAN FRANCISCO, April 22, 2024 ~ Nium, a leading company in real-time cross-border payments, has recently announced the appointment of Alexandra Johnson as their first Chief Payments Officer. This newly-created position aims to bring Nium closer to its partners in the payments ecosystem. Johnson will be responsible for overseeing the Global Banking and Payment Operations teams and will report directly to Prajit Nanu, Co-Founder and CEO of Nium.

As Chief Payments Officer, Johnson will be in charge of developing strategies, managing day-to-day activities, and driving the evolution of Nium's payments network team. She will also be responsible for growing and managing the company's payments network globally, while ensuring compliance with best practices and regulatory policies. In addition, she will work closely with the Risk and Compliance teams in each market to strengthen frameworks and establish new relationships.

Her expertise in these roles included exploring new technologies for greater efficiency and security in treasury solutions, overseeing product design and partnerships for foreign exchange products, as well as implementing network strategies.

In addition to her impressive professional background, Johnson is also actively involved in philanthropy. She sits on the board of Bottomless Closet, a non-profit organization that supports disadvantaged women in New York City by helping them enter the workforce and achieve success. She holds an MBA from George Washington University and dual-bachelor's degrees from Michigan State University.
