Altis recognized for execution of modern-inspired design with innovative community placemaking
BEAUMONT, Calif. - Californer -- Pardee Homes Inland Empire is proud to announce that Altis, its 55+ master-planned community in Beaumont, Calif., has been recognized as a Grand Award winner for Best Age Qualified Community at the 2019 Gold Nugget Awards. The award recognizes those who improve communities through exceptional concepts in design, planning and development. A refreshing departure from the typical 55+ communities in Southern California, Altis appeals to an active and sophisticated buyer through thoughtful, modern and environmentally friendly design.
"Altis was conceived and created with connection in mind, from the personalized comfort of home to the strong communal ties that our lifestyle community fosters," said Mike Taylor, division president of Pardee Homes Inland Empire. "This honorary Gold Nugget Award is not only a great distinction, but also a recognition of our modern designs and innovative approaches to shared amenities."
The winning team behind Altis includes interior designers VER Designs, AI Design, and Luna Pearl Studio; architects/designers SHJ Studio, Anderson Baron, and Bassenian Lagoni; and land planners Pardee Homes and RVI Planning. To execute the standout 55+ lifestyle community, developer Pardee Homes used a tailored approach for more expressive and individualistic community placemaking. Altis homes have a recognizable traditional architecture, but with a twist — a newer, cleaner design. That modern interpretation constitutes a bold step forward in a region of very historically based architecture.

Located between Palm Springs and Los Angeles, Altis will ultimately comprise 704 homes across four distinct collections — Vita, Avid, Mira and Elan — offering fresh designs, energy-efficient features and open, personalized floorplans. Ranging from 1,473 to 3,094 square feet, the single-story homes come with two to three bedrooms, two to three and a half baths and two-bay garages. Additionally, the comprehensive LivingSmart® program seamlessly blends the design, development, construction and operation of these high-performing homes to provide healthier, more comfortable living environments with lower operating costs.
Held in San Francisco in conjunction with the Pacific Coast Builders Conference, the Gold Nugget Awards honor design and planning excellence for residential and commercial real estate projects from 14 Western states as well as international projects. Known as the "Academy Awards" of the building industry, they are determined by a jury of the nation's leading architects, designers and developers. Altis and the other winners at the 56th Gold Nugget Awards were chosen out of approximately 600 entries from around the world.
