Local Non-Profit Coordinates Donations and Volunteers to Help Older Adults Remain Independent

LOS ANGELES - Californer -- The California Chapters of the National Aging in Place Council (NAIPC) are pleased to announce efforts to assist older adults with clothing, supplies, medical equipment, and other items of need, due to the wildfires affecting Southern California.

"Many of these older adults have lost not just their homes, but all of the items that help them maintain their independence," said Tara Ballman, Executive Director of NAIPC.

Beginning today, donations and supplies for older adults will be accepted at the following locations throughout Southern California:

Individuals wishing to purchase and ship items may send deliveries to DGM Home Solutions, Attn Stephanie Dumpert, 107 Mission Dr, Camarillo, CA 93010.

-          Closed-heel shoes in sizes 8-13 for men and sizes 6-11 for women

Adaptive Clothing
-          Easy-on pants and tops in men's sizes S-XXL and women's sizes XS – XXL
-          Lightweight sweaters and jackets in men's sizes S-XXL and women's sizes XS – XXL
-          Cotton pajamas in in men's sizes S-XXL and women's sizes XS – XXL
-          Underwear and sports bras in all sizes
-          Regular and compression socks in all adult sizes

Medical and Incontinence Supplies
-          Adult briefs/depends in all sizes
-          Incontinence supplies
-          Shower chairs and transfer benches
-          Medical gloves
-          Bathing wipes
-          Bed rails

Durable Medical Equipment
-          Wheelchairs
-          Walkers and rollators
