ANAHEIM, Calif. - Californer -- Grace Divine is a local artist currently residing in the So Cal area. Growing up, she was impacted by the "surfing" culture prevalent in Orange County. The art in this show, which comprises over 25 paintings and two books, is all about the surfing experience, visiting the beach, feeling the temperature by the ocean, walking on the sand, watching the waves, listening to the water crashing in the sand... The title of the works which comprises a series is "SURF THE WAVE THE GALAXY TIME MACHINE." How this title came about, and the art itself for that matter, is that the artist was inspired by the thought that the spiraling galaxy, and all the planets, look like wheels inside a clock. And so, what this demonstrates is that art, and in particular this art, is all about whimsy. But how that connected to the sea and surfing has to do with the spiraling nature of waves, and the movement of surfers upon these waves. The idea further developed with the imaginings of what, if one day, with technological advancements like the Space Force, for instance, people would be able to surf the galaxy? After all, the artist theorizes via the moving lines and waves in the paintings themselves, it is possible that space ships will, one day, be able to ride the waves of stars as they move through time and space. Please join us on February 1, 2020 at 2 pm at the Learning Light Foundation, who is hosting our event and helping us put this event together. They are located at 1212 E Lincoln Ave, Anaheim, CA 92805. Entry to show is free. Check out the art here: http://www.gracedivine.com/surfing-the-time-machine.html
