Catalina Maldonado hails from Quito, Ecuador, the country known as "the middle of the world" for its position on the equator. While many became apathetic to the country's declining quality of life, Catalina chose to take action, working to restore integrity, virtue and honesty to Ecuador's culture. Tens of thousands across all levels of society have since been empowered through her work, which has led to an 80 percent drop in crime in the areas she has reached. Catalina is committed to uplifting the nation and "bringing about a new civilization for Ecuador."
