ALAMEDA, Calif. - Californer -- Alten Construction (https://www.altenconstruction.com/), a full-service San Francisco Bay Area commercial construction company, recently returned to College of Alameda (https://alameda.edu/), the construction company's first project after it launched 28 years ago, to construct a new building for the campus.
The firm recently started work on a $30 million, 40,000-square-foot transportation technology facility that will host three department programs, including Auto Body and Paint, Automotive Technology and Diesel Mechanics.
In 1995, Alten Construction completed its very first project, a 23-bathroom renovation for the College of Alameda, Laney College and Merritt College, part of the Peralta Community College District.
"It is incredibly fulfilling to return to our first project after 28 years," said Bob Alten, president and CEO of Alten Construction. "We've come a long way since we first started, and we're proud to be one of the most well-respected general contractors in the area."
